In the process of digitizing my grandfather’s reel to reel tape collection, I discovered a wonderful 20 minute tape of Louis singing several traditional Irish songs. My grandfather, Hugh J. Connor (1911-1987) was a prominent radio executive and community leader in Scranton, PA. He and Louis were friends. They likely met during one of several group tours my grandfather led to Ireland in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Personally, I met Louis on St. Patrick’s Day in 1973, when he performed live on WEJL radio in Scranton. I was eleven years old and recalled being blown away by the talent of Louis Browne. Because of the fairly high quality of the recordings, I wanted to seek out any next of kin to share them. Luckily, I found your site. If you’re interested, please write me at to_thh@yahoo.com and I’ll be happy to share a link to the file. All the best - Tom

I did many a show with your Dad in the late 60s to mid 70s. He was a lovely warm hearted friendly man and of course a fantastic tenor. For some unknown reason he came into my mind this morning and I fed his name into google. Up your site came. You have done a wonderful tribute to your Dad.

I've wonderful memories of his glorious rendition of "your tiny hand is frozen" in the Irish Club in Eton Square in the early 60's. It was a moment in time I will never forget as a young Irish man in London. Thank you for preserving these memories and sharing his tremendous gift with the world. Paddy
